SWETA BABLADI
FLUTE
Sweta’s passion for music began with her early training in vocal Karnatik music, a form of classical Indian music. Since then, she has performed at several cultural programs and events each year, and she is eager to continue honing her vocal skills in a variety of different genres. At the age of twelve, she began taking piano lessons and fell in love with the flute from her time in middle school band. In high school, she discovered her passion for music education and advocacy in the performing arts.
Currently, Sweta is in her second year at the University of Calgary doing a Bachelor of Music in flute performance, at the end of which she hopes to pursue music education. She is a member of the MRU Conservatory’s Calgary Youth Orchestra, the U of Calgary Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble. With her leadership work at the university, Sweta seeks to foster a sense of community for her peers and promote diversity in Calgary’s performing arts scene.
