JOHN GLANVILLE

Trained in the jazz tradition, John Glanville carries a deep passion for excellence and joy in the percussive arts. He believes that proper fundamental technique and a strong grasp of the rudiments do not obstruct the joy of creating music, but instead compliment it, and that this is true whether a student is learning an étude, performing in a band, or jamming out to a top 20 hit.

John holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Ambrose University and has travelled across the continent and to Europe to deepen his understanding of drumming and music through intensive studies with legendary drummers such as Kenny Washington and John Riley; he also held a three-year position on the Ambrose Arts Research Team with a focus on human connection in concerts. John is a protégé of Sanah Kadoura (Downbeat Magazine Best Albums of 2023 winner).
