Erik Allen.
Calgary drummer Erik Allen has established himself as an emotional and dynamic drummer who explores expressive technique and versatility. Educated at Humber College in Toronto, Erik graduated from the jazz performance program and studied amongst great Toronto musicians Ted Warren, Don Vickery, Roger Flock, Paul Delong and Pat Labarbara. Erik's playing experience's include gigs with Juno Award winner Jenny Whiteley with whom Erik recorded the drums for her Juno Award winning album "Hopetown", Indie pop lumierie John Southworth, gigs with the Whiteley Family Band, blues guitarists Frank Cosentino and Alix Anthony, The Dirty Little Blues Band, The Creaking Tree String Quartet, Jazz/Funk band The Product, the Brampton Symphony, guitarist Joey Wright, and a 6 month gig in Dubai with The Groovematics Showband. Most recently Erik can be heard on the Familiar Music label cd Deromantic and on the debut creative jazz release by Wilson, Allen and Hay. Erik is a proud, but recent Calgarian who can be heard around Alberta playing with The Bill Mandzik Band.
